Merry Christmas + 2015 Resolutions (Wow, that's very ahead!)

Happy Christmas! It is finally that time of year when we get together with family and friends and spend time, eat tons of food, and remember God's birth. I wish all my readers, followers, blogging friends, and publishers an amazing Christmas! I hope you guys have a great night and I cannot wait to be back in 2015!

The middle and end of 2014 was very stressful for me. School really had taken over my life and it barely had time to blog. It felt like an accessory and I didn't feel like putting in energy into it when I could with school. So I did call in a break and as the Christmas season is coming, I wanted to enjoy these couple weeks before I head back to school.

But that doesn't mean I'll be on a hiatus like last time!

I will have tons of reviews scheduled (I'm actually writing them as you read this XD), author interviews, blog tours, my 2015 Reading Challenges, and giveaways!

Thank you guys so much! Have a great 2014 winter and cannot wait for 2015!

I'm BACK!

http://coolgirlsreadtoo.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/77/2014/08/itsgoodtobeback.gif?w=300

I am finally back! It feels so great to be back, I seriously have not set foot into blogger or twitter for almost 2 months! I mean, how crazy is that?!

School really had me focusing this year. I'm aiming to get all A's and on top of that I have 2 AP classes: APUSH and AP Eng, both which are fun and great, but honestly stressful. Blogging and reading have been big sidelines for me.

Soo...you must be wondering what I'm going to bring back into the blog, after my 2 month hiatus? Be on the lookout (starting next week):
-Reviews (mostly mini reviews of older books released a couple months ago, which I need to review ASAP)
-My Fresh Off The Press Posts, WoW, Booking Through Music, etc (The Memes)
-A bookshelf sale! YES! I have so much books I read and need to get rid of, so I'm going to have a post and a link to my amazon seller account so be sure to check it out!
-And more! I really will get back into commenting on my usual blogs and if your a new blog, comment with you link in the bottom and I'll check it out :)

Waiting on Wednesday (#65) - Belzhar by Meg Wolitzer

Waiting on Wednesday is Hosted by Jill @ Breaking The Spine
Belzhar
Goodreads Summary:
If life were fair, Jam Gallahue would still be  at home in New Jersey with her sweet British  boyfriend, Reeve Maxfield. She’d be watching  old comedy sketches with him. She’d be kissing  him in the library stacks.

She certainly wouldn’t be at The Wooden Barn, a therapeutic boarding school in rural Vermont, living with a weird roommate, and signed up for an exclusive, mysterious class called Special Topics in English.

But life isn’t fair, and Reeve Maxfield is dead.

Until a journal-writing assignment leads Jam to Belzhar, where the untainted past is restored, and Jam can feel Reeve’s arms around her once again. But there are hidden truths on Jam’s path to reclaim her loss.

From New York Times bestselling author Meg Wolitzer comes a breathtaking and surprising story about first love, deep sorrow, and the power of acceptance.
Why I'm Waiting For It: Besides that I'm featuring it as part of my "September Spotlights" I love the whole plot and it sounds soooo amazing! It's fresh and new and something I never even heard of. It's rievting and I love everything about it! I would do anything for a review copy!

Belzhar hits shelves Sept. 30, 2014 from Dutton Juvenile

A Diiferent Approach: Magnolia - Krisit Cook

Magnolia

Magnolia by Kristi Cook
Date Released: August 5, 2014
Publisher: Simon and Schuster

Pages: 356 pages
Format: Paperback
Source: TeenBoard
Rating: (NEED ONE)
Series: Standalone!

Goodreads Synopsis: In Magnolia Branch, Mississippi, the Cafferty and Marsden families are southern royalty. Neighbors since the Civil War, the families have shared vacations, holidays, backyard barbecues, and the overwhelming desire to unite their two clans by marriage. So when a baby boy and girl were born to the families at the same time, the perfect opportunity seemed to have finally arrived.

Jemma Cafferty and Ryder Marsden have no intention of giving in to their parents’ wishes. They’re only seventeen, for goodness’ sake, not to mention that one little problem: They hate each other! Jemma can’t stand Ryder’s nauseating golden-boy persona, and Ryder would like nothing better than to pretend stubborn Jemma doesn’t exist.

But when a violent storm ravages Magnolia Branch, it unearths Jemma’s and Ryder’s true feelings for each other as the two discover that the line between love and hate may be thin enough to risk crossing over

From Goodreads

I honestly really enjoyed Magnolia by Kristi Cook from beginning to end! There was something about the characters to the survival-love aspect that had be hooked, and I'm pretty impressed Kristi managed to create a good realistic fiction book. Definitely give this one a try!

What struck me about Magnolia that I really admired was the flow and ease of the plot and characters. Jemma McCafferty lives in Mississippi, where they have tons of storms every year. As she tries to find who she is and what she plans to do with her life, she doesn't know a storm will bring her even closer to her best childhood friend, Ryder. I felt the beginning of the book to be a little cliche. You know that best friend love romance stuff? That was here, but Cook brings her own take by adding a storm and I really enjoyed it. Magnolia was moving and it had me turning the pages to see how Jemma faced all things happening to her family and also her heart. The characters are warm and did feel real and the plot was great!

Magnolia could have been more complex, if Kristi gave Jemma the chance to get her to know Patrick, the boy she seems to get attracted to. It felt like somethings were rushed and some of the decisions of the characters were a throw. But Magnolia shines with Cook's simplistic writing alongside her warm characters, and I applaud her for trying moving away from the paranormal genre!

Magnolia was a great summer book, but you can definitely pick it anytime. The characters hits home and you'll be wrapped up in a warm, bittersweet story!

Fresh Off The Press (#33) - Sept 2 - Sept 7

First off, let me say that I am back!! Yes I am! School has been sooo crazy and all over the charts stressful, things are kinda settling. AP Us History (or APUSH) is killing me! Sooo much notes to take and it's a lot of work, but I really enjoy it. As for AP Eng, it's going pretty easy and I love that class. So September should be a great month!
