Goodreads Synopsis: She’s been six different people in six different places: Madeline in Ohio, Isabelle in Missouri, Olivia in Kentucky . . . But now that she’s been transplanted to rural Louisiana, she has decided that this fake identity will be her last.

Witness Protection has taken nearly everything from her. But for now, they’ve given her a new name, Megan Rose Jones, and a horrible hair color. For the past eight months, Meg has begged her father to answer one question: What on earth did he do – or see – that landed them in this god-awful mess? Meg has just about had it with all the Suits’ rules — and her dad’s silence. If he won’t help, it’s time she got some answers for herself.

But Meg isn’t counting on Ethan Landry, an adorable Louisiana farm boy who’s too smart for his own good. He knows Meg is hiding something big. And it just might get both of them killed. As they embark on a perilous journey to free her family once and for all, Meg discovers that there’s only one rule that really matters — survival.

From Goodreads
The cover of The Rules for Disappearing really had me to be on the blog tour and the synopsis! I came into reading the book with high expectations, and it did deliver is some places just not all of them. The Rules for Disappearing with edgy, gripping, and had me at the edge of my seat! With Ashley Elston's simplistic writing, I need to pick any book of hers soon!

I always love a good, curl-up-under-the-cover book and The Rules for Disappearing was no exception. It was so easy to be absorbed in a world that still had a touch of a possible reality but still had that Witness Protection program aspect, which I'm a total sucker for! Meg, the main character, was really relatable for be in the beginning and a bit through the middle, but she needed more of a spark to get me to start liking her even more. She had her own spice that she brought to the book. Sometimes, I wasn't really feeling where she was going with her choices. It felt like she had to do them just because and there needed to be a bigger conflict for me. But I loved the way she cared for her sister! Her relationship with Ethan was pretty good also. Ashley manages to keep her simple writing style but also add suspense and thrill to what she already has. And I loved when we got Meg into some action!

The Rules for Disappearing was a book I liked a lot! I loved the action and thrill scenes of the book and Meg was such a great character, including Ethan and even Pearl! The book explores the journey of how changing the way you are, slowly loses what you actually are. Meg goes through a perilous journey and it's one I'd love to read again for sure! PIck it up!
