Wishing More Of The Fae:The Iron King - Julie Kagawa

The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1)The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
Date Released: February 1st 2010
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 363 pages
Date Read: September
Format: Paperback
Source: Bought at Barnes and Noble
Goodreads Synopsis:  Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

From Goodreads

My Review:
Tagline: "Meghan Chase never knew she had a hidden destiny with two lovers that could change her life forever"

It took a while to get to this review! :) But I've been  The Iron King was a pretty great read with all the hype of The Iron Legends and Knight, I grabbed the book, with high hopes. And...after reading it, I really wished there was more depth to the story! *backs off looking at people* Don't start chasing me because I really was disappointed on The Iron King!  :/ Meghan was super annoying and naive but still promising at parts. I was left begging for more and didn't get it in this book.

The Iron King starts off with the average main character, Meghan Chase who's trying to fit in at school and home. She has a secret destiny, being the daughter of a the Fae king. Like the normal YA cliches, I have to hit my head against the wall. It's was so typical and I was really wanting more to happen! And don't get me started when she is taken to the mythical land of the Fae! :/

Exactly...

But as the book went on and on to the dark world of the Fae and Nevernever, I was hooked and couldn't stop reading! Meghan grew less naive and I was smiling a lot to finally see Puck and Ash come in! Because we all know this novel isn't perfect or couldn't get a higher rating without them adding some of the romance in the air! :D I really liked both of them but I'm definitly Team Ash. He was strong, relatble and was completely different from Puck. Bit I could see the tension Julie Kagawa tried to create for a love triangle, I'm crossing my fingers gets better and more in dept. Plus I love all the adventures they had especially with Grimalkin. Those were great reads in this book I enjoyed a lot, no doubt, espcially the one in the forest!

All in all, The Iron King was a great read. It did surprise me in some parts but I  was really wishing more of everything here and there. But I do know Julie Kagawa has more in store for the next books and I'm really looking forward to them! Ooh and The Immortal Rules! Ahh! :)

Waiting On Wednesday (#10) - The Diviners by Libbra Brey

Waiting On Wednesday is Hosted by Jill @ Breaking The Spine

This week I am gushing, raving, and excited for: The Diviners by Libba Brey!

The Diviners (The Diviners, #1)

Goodreads Synopsis:  Evie O'Neill has been exiled from her boring old hometown and shipped off to the bustling streets of New York City--and she is pos-i-toot-ly thrilled. New York is the city of speakeasies, shopping, and movie palaces! Soon enough, Evie is running with glamorous Ziegfield girls and rakish pickpockets. The only catch is Evie has to live with her Uncle Will, curator of The Museum of American Folklore, Superstition, and the Occult--also known as "The Museum of the Creepy Crawlies."
When a rash of occult-based murders comes to light, Evie and her uncle are right in the thick of the investigation. And through it all, Evie has a secret: a mysterious power that could help catch the killer--if he doesn't catch her first.

LIBBA BREY!!! What eles could I say! I'm so so excited for Libba's new book! I was really disappointed her other series, A Great and Terrible Beauty, which I thought would be amazing but ended up being flat. But I have HUGE HOPES for this series! Plus who's liking the cover 0_0 :D
